Development Report – February 2025 – New Friends, New UI!

All hands on deck for an update from the Unmasked Truths Team!


Continuing with where we left off in January, in addition to the work done on other areas, the concept and 3D teams have focused a lot of energy on the cafe! Check out a small sample of their absolutely stunning work:

You might be wondering, “Why all the focus on the cafe?”

We’re preparing some gameplay footage for a short scene, and additional in-engine screenshots finalized for a very special reason… the Unmasked Truths: Shattered Dreams Steam will go public during the Steam Visual Novel Fest on March 3!

We’ve also officially locked in a date with Vienna’s very own Synchron Stage Orchestra—the very same group behind the music of fan favorite titles like Fortnite Chapter 2, WandaVision, Made in Abyss, Lego Batman, Ghost in the Shell (2017), and many more—to record the music of Unmasked Truths! 

Composer Marco is in the final stages of fine-tuning the scores and coordinating with the orchestra to make sure recording is a huge success, so be on the lookout for a special compilation video and a first peek at the live performances, plus updated music track previews to be released in the coming months! 

In addition, the dev team has expanded!

Join us in welcoming 2D Artist Bakaretsu! He’ll be lending his artistic skills to the creation of even more fun promotional content and special announcements!


At the end of January, we also sent out a call for UI/UX specialists. We received hundreds of applications, and after a handful of art tests have teamed up with Capriccioso Studios!

They’re a creative group of fellow developers behind games like Haphazard Angel, a co-op game where each player controls an Angel’s wing; and Without Light, a first-person suspense adventure game which revolves around a blind boy that can envision sight through sound! 

In just a couple of short weeks, Capriccio Studios’ Nica has already made some amazing progress with designing the UI for Unmasked Truths. We’re currently workshopping several different designs and even plan to make colors a customization option once it’s implemented in Unreal Engine!
